My Approach
As an Afrolatina and bilingual speech-language pathologist, Kristina is passionate about providing individualized and culturally responsive services to all clients that enter her virtual office. Cultural responsiveness is defined as the ability to provide services that are equitable and reflective of one's cultural and linguistic background. Kristina is specifically trained to work with individuals from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and provide accurate and informative decisions regarding assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders.
Kristina has extensive training on the use of a combination of standardized and non-standardized assessments to differentiate between language differences and disorders in bilingual clients. Kristina also has experience in assessing and treating a number of unique speech and language disorders and differences, including fluency disorders (i.e., stuttering and cluttering), voice disorders and gender-affirming voice training (GAVT), reading disorders (i.e., dyslexia), and the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Kristina will work with each individual client to ensure that they have a holistic recommendation following one's speech screening, speech evaluation, and/or speech therapy session.
